Legal Aid Updates Migrant Workers Handbook
As the harvesting season approaches, Legal Aid and its partners are gearing up their outreach to migrant workers with their updated Nebraska Migrant Action Coalition (NEMAC) Handbook. Written in Spanish and English, the handbook is a guide to their legal rights and to other helpful information targeting migrant and seasonal farmworkers. NEMAC is a collaborative effort of partnering agencies that provide assistance to this group. The partners include Legal Aid of Nebraska, Creighton University Office of Multicultural Affairs, NAF: Multicultural Human Development Corporation, Nebraska Department of Labor, and other interested participants. Together, these entities have devoted energy to improve the level of education and outreach in migrant communities. This Handbook is produced by the Migrant Worker Project of Legal Aid through grant funds from the Legal Services Corporation.
If your agency would like some handbooks to hand out to Migrant Workers, please contact Lori L. Wilson, 308-381-0517 or email her at lwilson@legalaidofnebraska.com.
